I have received this information today from the Highways Network Manager:
"I am writing to inform you that on Monday 23rd May, Yorkshire Water will be carrying out further sewer repair/blockage removal works in Main Street , Pool In Wharfedale
Temporary 3way lights will be installed outside the petrol station near the river bridge from 09.30 on Monday morning to manage traffic safely around the working area
The lights will be manually operated and additional traffic management operatives are to be employed remotely within Pool village to communicate with traffic light operator ensure that the queues are being managed efficiently
This particular operation is more complicated than the sewer works carried out here previously by Yorkshire Water and will take longer to complete
Once the excavation works begin, the team will work continuously until the repair made
This will then be followed up with the back fill and reinstatement of the excavation.
It is expected that the entire operation will be completed by Tuesday afternoon (24th May) - all being well
Given the location of the work area and excavations required, the temporary traffic lights will have to remain in in situ for the full duration of the works
The traffic management operatives will remain on site from:
*09.30 Monday morning until 19.00
*06.30 on Tuesday morning until the work have been completed and the traffic lights can be removed
Given the highly traffic sensitive nature of this particular location, significant delays should be expected here – especially during the morning and evening peak hours
Should anything change once works begin, we will let you know."
