Connecting Leeds:
- Have Your Say on A58 Roundhay Road and Barrack Road Improvements: Plans are underway to improve travel and safety, with proposals including new pedestrian crossings, segregated cycle lanes, and changes to key junctions around the Bayswater Triangle to reduce collisions. The project aims to enhance public spaces with new planting and introduce bus priority measures to improve journey reliability. You can share your views by completing our online survey or attending a drop-in event to speak with the project team. Visit our consultation page for more details.
- Otley Bridge pedestrian footway: The Council’s specialist contractor Balfour Beatty have set up the site and works compound, preparing for ground works for the installation of a temporary footbridge. A new 4D animation video explains how the works to install the temporary footbridge and the removal of the old footway will take place.. The updated schedule of works is: April – start installing temporary footbridge; June – temporary bridge open; June to October – old footway removed and replaced; and October – temporary bridge removed. Find out more here.
- Station Road in Cross Gates closed: The southbound carriageway of Station Road is now closed until Tuesday 25th November, as part of TransPennine Route Upgrade improvement works. Diversions will be in place via the westbound A64 and southbound East Leeds Orbital Route (ELOR) for motorists travelling to the M1 and A63. Drivers making shorter local journeys will be diverted via Austhorpe Road, Manston Lane, the ELOR and Selby Road. Find out more here.
- TransPennine Route Upgrade works - services affected in April: Saturday 19th until Monday 21st April will see no services running between Huddersfield and Leeds, while other services along the Pennines route might be impacted. For the latest travel information and to plan your journey in advance, check National Rail Enquiries or with train operators TransPennine Express or Northern.
- Changes to Leeds City Park and Ride Fares: Park and Ride fares have changed to bring them in line with other West Yorkshire bus fares. Increases have been kept to a minimum to ensure Park and Ride still offers great value and convenience compared with all day city centre parking. Customers will continue to benefit from convenient, cost-effective travel without the stress of finding a parking spot in the city centre. Click here for more details.
- Travel to Work Survey reminder - As mentioned in my last update, we’re looking for insights into how people commute to work as part of our annual Travel to Work survey. Insights from the survey will be used to help inform transport strategies and planning. Whether you walk, drive, get public transport, or cycle, you can get involved in the survey before 11th April.
