Notes/Trends/Advice:
- Burglary Residential (3) – 2 of the 3 burglaries recorded are believed to be linked, as both were thought to be targeting gold/jewellery. The locations were Bramhope and Adel. The third recorded burglary is not linked and relates to a theft of a bank card within a property in Holt Park. Some crime prevention suggestions for owners of expensive jewellery would include: to invest in a forensic marking solution (there are many brands available) which would allow Police to return any stolen jewellery to the victim at a later point if stolen, to not advertise the fact they own expensive jewellery on social media, to increase lighting and CCTV at their property & to consider having a safe installed within their property (again covered by a camera).
- Other Theft (2) – Both are low-level thefts, the circumstances of which do not indicate that anyone else is at risk. There is also no realistic crime prevention advice that would have prevented these.
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (1) – Range Rover stolen without keys. This is an ongoing issue in the area & one that I have provided advice on previously. We will issue the attached crime prevention leaflet on social media today & I would ask that you support us in spreading this message by also distributing it through your various channels.
