I advised some months ago I had secured funding for 2 new SIDs for Bramhope. I have now, after chasing this up for some time, received the update below from Highways.
These sites were the subject of previous consultation with residents and were the most favourable amongst those put forward:
"I have spoken to Miller Homes this morning and they have confirmed they are happy to fund the two devices, but want to know the exact location they are to be placed. Given the information provided on your email, dated 14th of November 2021, I would recommend the following locations:
- “at the corner of Leeds Road, Near the hotel and the top of Hall Drive” I would recommend that this be placed on LC140L233 facing northwards (column can be seen on street view here). The next column closer to the bend has the existing warning sign, and the other columns closer to the bend are on the opposite side of the carriageway.
- “at the Kings Road end of Bramhope.” This device is harder to place, due to all of the columns being in place on the eastern side of the carriageway, where a device would not be visible given the width of the road and pavement in this location. The first column I can recommend is 173L233 facing south eastwards (seen here on street view). All previous columns closer to the development are either too close to traffic signals, inside the length of two lane traffic or would likely be obscured by foliage in the area."
